Born to British parents in post-WWII Northern Rhodesia, the first of four children, I grew up through the turbulent fifties and sixties, witnessing the 'wind of change' that blew across Africa during that time. In 1967 I left Zambia to study Geology at Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota USA and have lived permanently in the United States since 1975. While I am now a naturalized citizen of the US I previously have held British and Zambian citizenships. Over the past twenty years I have traveled with my work to eighty countries covering nearly 2 1/2 million miles (4 million kilometers).
